Quilt Competition Rules 2007
Please read thoroughly
Competition is open to anyone in the Continental United States, HI and AK. This limitation is due to limited space at the museum.
The first 250 entries received will be accepted into the show. Entry deadline is 11/15/07.
Additional entries may be accepted based on available display space. If for any reason an entry cannot be displayed the entrant will be notified by phone on or before 11/20/07.
Completed entry form must be accompanied by a photo of the display item for identification, and the
$5.00 per item entry fee.
Receive one-day show pass with 2 or more quilt entries per person.
All entries must be made of fabric and be in show condition, clean and free of smoke or other odors, etc. Note that unfinished blocks & older quilts being submitted for the “Your Grandmother’s quilt” section can be in very “loved”(used) form & unfinished quilts will be accepted (includes blocks that have not been assembled). History of quilts in this category are wanted.
The Quilt Show Committee reserves the right to reject items that are not appropriate and to move entries to correct categories.
All entries must be quilted by hand, machine, or tied. Items must have been completed within the last 3 years.
Entry form must include the name(s) of everyone who has worked on the quilt. All quilts must have a 4” sewn on rod pocket or hanging sleeve. The top edge of the sleeve must be 85” from the bottom edge of the bed quilts.
Wall quilts must have a 4” sleeve sewn on the top back of the quilt. Committee reserves the right to reject any item not ready for display.
Each item must have entrant’s name and address on a fabric label SEWN to the lower right back.
Submitted items should be received in a clear plastic bag. Please fold so that the identification label is clearly visible.
Use a separate bag for each item entered. Items may not be returned in original bag.
Display items must be dropped off on or before Nov 15th at the Duggan House Museum located at 520 E. Waylon Jennings Blvd, Littlefield, TX by 11/15/07, during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or by 11/17/07 at Campbell’s & Quilting by Marge, located at 412 Phelps, Littlefield, TX 79339, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m..
Entrants will be issued a claim check postcard for each item entered when the item/s are dropped off or received.
Claim check postcards MUST be presented when picking up the item.
Shipped items may be sent to Duggan House Museum, 520 E Waylon Jennings Blvd, Littlefield, TX 79339, and received no sooner than 10/20/07 or no later than 11/17/07.
Entrant is responsible for shipping and insurance costs to and from the museum.
If item is to be shipped back to you, package MUST include a prepaid return address label. (Please do not send
cash).
A confirmation postcard will be sent upon arrival of entry at the DugganHouseMuseum.
Quilts must be picked up at museum during regular visiting hours on Monday,
December 3rd
Any items not picked up by Monday, December 3rd, will be available for pick up at the museum, and a $5.00 service/storage fee will be added. If you need to make other arrangements for the handling/return of your item, please contact the museum.
Security will be provided, however, items entered are at your own risk.
